Measurement of the fiber optical transport links
Ambrož, Jan ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the measurement of optical transport links. In particular, the measurement of attenuation, chromatic and polarization mode dispersion. Specic me- asurement systems using a WDM and passive optical networks. Within each chapter are listed the causes and eects restrictive factors and methods of measurement. In chapter Attenuation measurements are described radiation and material loss as the main causes of depression. Methods whitch are described two lengths, insert loss and reectometri. Chromatic dispersion at dierent speeds of various wavelengths limits systems with high transfer rate. Methods of measuring the phase shift, dierential phase shift, pulse time delay and interference. Polarization mode dispersion is a random phenomenon caused double refraction, must be measured after completion of the route. Scanning wavelen- gth, traditional and general interference, reectometri and the polarimetric are methods of measurement. It described the measurement of WDM systems in three stages of its build. In brief PON networks are presented, with the specicities of the measurement over splitter. Most chapters are supplemented by the results and conclusions of practical measurements. At the end of the work are given by the two standards deal with the measurement of optical transport links.
The effect of optical fiber attenuation on the capacity of optical traces
Žák, Ondřej ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
The essence of this thesis is the creation of complex insight on optic fibre attenuation. There is successive steps explained mechanism of optical attenuation and characterized its spectral dependence. We are describing primary elements of optical attenuation, its sorts and their own spectral dependence. Bachelor´s thesis is explaining requirements of transmission system to spectral characteristic optic fibre and influence of optic fibre attenuation on capacity of optical trace. Output of bachelor´s thesis is program solution of designed mathematical model for calcula-tion spectral dependence of optical attenuation. Program is realized in MATLAB and there is furthermore added version in Microsoft Office 1997-2003. Created program is able to ap-proximate points data obtained from measurement of optic fibre by using Lagrange interpola-tion polynomial and Rayleigh scatter interlay.
Workpiece geometrical accuracy measurement possibilities
Tvardek, Michal ; Musil, Martin (referee) ; Blecha, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to do a research in the field of measurement of geometrical accuracy of workpiece. In the introduction I deal with the description and graphic interpretation of geometrical tolerances and parameters of the surface texture, including their illustration in the drawing documentation. Then I briefly summarized the major measuring methods of the chosen geometrical features and gear wheels. I also described the current equipment for measuring geometrical accuracy and surface texture for both inprocess and postprocess usage; meanwhile I tried to accentuate their main features and advantages.
Temperature Influence over Vibration Sensors
Kadubec, Petr ; Vdoleček, František (referee) ; Zuth, Daniel (advisor)
This graduation thesis deals with temperature influence on vibration sensors. Vibration sensors are situated on facilities which heat up temperatures during its activity or are situated on a place where another resources of a heat are. Affected vibration sensors can markedly influent result of the diagnostic facilities.
Development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe
Trýska, Tomáš ; Musil, Vladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the development of electronic circuitry for remote controlled bathyscaphe and allow it to move, measure the working values and transmit the video stream from IP camera to the computer. Camera itself can be also remotely tilted by a small servo motor. The bathyscaphe is controlled through a simple computer program.
Measurement and anaysis of electrocardiograms
Zimáková, Jana ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
The aim of my barchelor’s thesis was to become familiar with the methology of measurement of electrocardiographic signals, their description and subsequent analysis. During the measurement I used a computer system Biopac and program Matlab. The work is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on general problems of the heart activity, the generation, measurement and description of ECG curves. The second part is devoted to a description of the systém Biopac – recovery, procedure for the measurement and results measured sleep and stress ECG. The third part describes the actual processing of measured signals in Matlab.
Design of optoelectronic sensor for biological tissues
Balík, Zdeněk ; Bartlová, Milada (referee) ; Tománek, Pavel (advisor)
Biological tissues are optically inhomogeneous and absorbent materials. They are comprised of various structures such as cells, cell organelles, and various fiber structures. Due to these structures leads to different interactions with the light and phenomena such as absorption, scattering and polarization of light. Different ultrasonic, electromagnetic, electrical and optical methods are used for meat ageing detection. Muscles are turbid anisotropic media, they exhibit changes in electrical and optical properties according to the direction of the electrical and optical fields in the sample. The diploma work assesses the feasibility of impedance measurements for meat ageing detection and their comparison with optical measurement of scattered polarized light. Two different sample were used: pork chop slices and chicken breasts were used for their relative homogeneity. The electrical method is a promising method due to the possibility of getting much information and realizing cheap and fast enough measurement systems. The proposed optical method allows measure the rotation of polarization plane with meat ageing in the range of 95 degrees within considered period. Through the first promising results obtained in this thesis, a further work has to be provided to determine closer relationship between optical scattering characteristics, electrical anisotropy in ageing-related tissue structural properties.
Effects of assembling on quality of cable systems
Konvalinka, Vladimír ; Dostál, Otto (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with questions of measuring of cabling systems. There is described the evolution of structured cabling including the rules of their installation, approval and their final measurement. The first part of this work is dedicated to the conception of structured cabling and its history which originated at the beginning of 80s when the first personal computers began to appear at the market. The necessity of mutual communication of their users caused forceful development of networks and technologies. As a result lots of single-purpose, incompatible and mutual independent cabled distributions were developed. This method of cabling was uneconomical, very demanding on service and impractical for network expansion. That’s why the universal cabled system was developed whose baseline became a twisted pair. Characteristics of structured cablings are designed in order it could be possible to transmit whole rang of applications through them. Metallic cables and nowadays also optical cables are used for their installation. The cabling system consists of lots of other items among them we can rank items active and stable. It’s necessary to scale lots of criteria which involve the quality of data transmission in this network. The measurement is done by the devices which comply with basic requirements determined by the standards according to technology. There are described the rules and proper processes of installing cabling systems, which should be followed while installations. At the end of my thesis there are mentioned the results of the measurements on simulation segments of cabling system which serve as completion certificates between an installation company and a consumer.
